Trevor Matthews presented the awards to our worthy winners. The Millennium Cup for adults who make a contribution to better parish life was awarded to Cathy Gattoni-Stoker and Carol Nealon, who as VIPS have helped to raise over £116,000 to completely refurbish Narborough Park Play Area. Andrew Robathan MP came along to present the prizes and we all joined in a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" to our Chairman Trevor Matthews. After more than 40 years the Council's valued and loyal employee, Terry Shenton, has retired. During a reception at the Plough Public House, on 8th July Terry was presented with a replica of his old "Fergy" Tractor, and friends and colleagues old and new enjoyed a buffet tea as we said an emotional goodbye to Terry. Cathy's daughter, Elodie and Carol's children, Sinead and Sean opened the play area on Saturday 5th July.
