There will be a further meeting of this group on Thursday 13th November at 7.30pm, at the Parish Centre, Desford Road, Narborough to discuss the proposed development of land at Warwick Road, Littlethorpe.

The exhibition held on Thursday 18th September at Lttlethorpe Village Hall was attended by numerous residents and several local Councillors.
Davidsons Group is proposing a residential development of approximately 400 homes, community open space, structural landscaping and a new road with footpath and cycleway linking Cosby Road to Warwick Road, on land off Warwick Road, Littlethorpe. The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for the local community to view the proposed scheme and speak to members of the development team prior to the submission of an outline planning application. Forms were also available for those attending to ask questions and put forward views to the company.

Cllr. Trevor Matthews presented the Best Kept Allotment Cup to Sam and Vesna Daniel, during his At Home evening on 11th September. Congratulations to them both for their excellent plot at the Garden Allotment Site.

At the Chairman's At Home on 11th September, Cllr. Trevor Matthews presented the awards to our worthy winners. The Millennium Cup for adults who make a contribution to better parish life was awarded to Cathy Gattoni-Stoker and Carol Nealon, who as VIPS have helped to raise over £116,000 to completely refurbish Narborough Park Play Area.
The Jubilee Cup, awarded to under 18's, was presented to Anthony Darlow, a pupil at Brockington College, who spends an enormous amount of his spare time helping others, particularly his fellow pupils. Congratulations to all winners.

Looking at the entries in the Annual Village Show in the Parish Centre, Narborough.

Despite the appalling weather on Saturday the Annual Village Show went ahead with numerous entries and large numbers attending to view the competition. Andrew Robathan MP came along to present the prizes and we all joined in a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" to our Chairman Trevor Matthews.

Sharp eyed residents will have noticed a new driver, Peter on the Council's distinctive blue tractor recently. After more than 40 years the Council's valued and loyal employee, Terry Shenton, has retired. During a reception at the Plough Public House, on 8th July Terry was presented with a replica of his old "Fergy" Tractor, and friends and colleagues old and new enjoyed a buffet tea as we said an emotional goodbye to Terry.

The children were presented with a gift to remember their special day.

The park is open and the children can enjoy the fun.

Cathy and Carol, the backbone of the Village Improvements Playground Scheme, who helped to raise thousands of pounds to refurbish Narborough Park Play Area, with their children. Cathy's daughter, Elodie and Carol's children, Sinead and Sean opened the play area on Saturday 5th July.

After the cutting of the ribbon the children rush in to enjoy the new play area.

The Travel Club celebrated it's 20th birthday in style, with a few games of bingo, 2 quizzes, a very funny show by local comedian Les Wilson and a spectacular birthday tea.

After a few games of bingo hosted by guests of honour, Bernard and Anne Allen, the no.1 members who travelled from their home in Yorkshire to help us celebrate; the main attraction, local comedian, Les Wilson, had the audience in fits of laughter.
