Chairman's At Home
On Thursday 11th September our Chairman hosted a very enjoyable event at the Parish Centre. Cllr. Trevor Matthews and his wife, Mary invited fellow Councillors, staff and representatives from many local organisations to his At Home. Around 70 people came along to enjoy an informal evening, meeting others from the community for a chat and a buffet meal.
During the evening Trevor also presented awards to several deserving winners;
The Jubilee Cup for under 18's awarded to Anthony Darlow for his numerous works with young people whilst attending Brockington College.
The Millennium Cup for adults awarded to Cathy Gattoni-Stoker and Carol Nealon for their tireless work as founding members of VIPS. They, over the last four years helped to raise more than £116,000 to re-equip the play area at Narborough Park.
The Best Kept Allotment Cup was won by Sam and Vesna Daniel for their excellent plot at the Narborough Allotment Site.
Congratulations to all winners.
Many comments have been received from attendees saying how much they enjoyed the evening.
On Thursday 11th September, during his At Home, Cllr. Trevor Matthews launched his Chairman's Appeal for 2008. Trevor's chosen appeal is to refurbish the clock at All Saint's Parish Church in the village.
"A Moment in Time" will need to raise approximately £10,000 to complete the restoration project.
Narborough & Littlethorpe Village Show
Saturday 6th September 2008
Despite the terrible weather on Saturday the Village Show was very well attended, with many entries to the various categories. Our MP Mr Andrew Robathan kindly came along to present the prizes and remarked on the quintessentially English tradition of village shows and how pleased he was to see Narborough and Littlethorpe doing so well in carrying on that tradition.

The "Tractor Man" Retires
Sharp eyed residents will have noticed a new driver, Peter on the Council's distinctive blue tractor recently. After more than 40 years the Council's valued and loyal employee, Terry Shenton, has retired. During a reception at the Plough Public House, on 8th July Terry was presented with a replica of his old "Fergy" Tractor, and friends and colleagues old and new enjoyed a buffet tea as we said an emotional goodbye to Terry.

Working Groups
There are 19 members of the Parish Council, all of whom are volunteers and are elected to office every four years by the voters of Narborough and Littlethorpe.
Working Groups of Councillors are appointed to oversee the various aspects of the Council's responsibilities, who then research and report to the whole council at the monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Council decided to realign the groups and appointments to the new Working Groups were made at the Annual meeting in May.
The lead members for each of the new groups are shown on the Councillors page along with their contact details.
